Things to see and do in The Ålesund area
The nearby town of Ålesund is a great place to start exploring. One of Norway's most beautiful towns, known for its picturesque Art Deco architecture. It has several interesting museums, a large aquarium, and great restaurants and cafes. Beyond the town lies a dramatic landscape of deep fjords and alpine peaks, included on the prestigious UNESCO World Heriatge List of cultural and natural Heritage sites. The fjord landscape is loved by hikers, and offers excellent skiing during winter.
